Over at the Country Mart, we’ve gotten tons of holiday shoppers looking for unique gifts and tasty Mexican food! We’ve also got the one-and-only Santa Claus making an appearance on December 14 and December 21! Make sure to drop by for pictures between 12p-2p and if you’re feeling extra generous, offer him a FRIDA TACO!

The Westside Pavilion has some fantastic decorations too (and plenty of sales for you last-minute shoppers). We’re having a ton of fun adding merriment to the food court and are extra excited about the mall’s Santa Paws Pet Night on December 16! Make sure to bring the entire fam…and a hearty tostada appetite.

And in good old Melrose, the holidays are getting a artsy twist. Ok, so the picture above might not be of the jolly elves, but at least it’s using the Christmas colors, right? All of you who enjoy getting your “party” on during winter break should definitely stop by the TACO shop. As always, we’ll be serving hot Mexican treats until midnight on Weds and Thurs and until 3am Saturdays and Sundays.

So enjoy the chills of December and have a happy, healthy holiday season!

Halloween FRIDA Style!

28 Oct

Que pasa FRIDA TACOS fans,

It’s hard to believe that we’re just a few short days from Halloween. In honor of one of the year’s most popular holidays, we thought it would be fun to shoot out a few festive ideas…FRIDA style, of course. Both our TACOS and Mexican Cuisine restaurants will be celebrating All Hallow’s Eve and we encourage you to fill up your trick-or-treat bags with taquitos, burritos and churro desserts!

Now for all you Melrose locals, we recommend participating in the legendary West Hollywood Carnival. Just minutes from our restaurant, it packs the streets with nearly 500,000 people, dressed in every type of costume imaginable. There will also be live concerts and shuttles (so you can avoid the parking issues on Santa Monica Blvd). FRIDA TACOS will be open until midnight on Halloween and we recommend coming in for a hearty “pre-party” meal (or if you need some late night food to recover).

On the Brentwood side of town, the Country Mart (which houses our FRIDA TAQUERIA shop) will be hosting a family-friendly event on October 30. Running from 3-6p, it will have ghost stories, candy giveaways and plenty of plump pumpkins for photo opps. Just like every year, it’s a great Halloween event that trick-or-treaters of all ages can enjoy.

If you happen to live near our Westside Pavilion location, there are also a ton of fun events planned right inside the mall. Nearly every store will be handing out candy from 5-7p on Halloween night, making it a fun and safe alternative to knocking on strangers’ doors. We’ll have plenty of treats cooked up in the food court too, including our famous FRIDA churros and flan!

And let’s not forget the day AFTER Halloween. Dia de los Muertos is a big tradition in Mexican culture and our FRIDA Westwood restaurant is already gearing up, with special sugar skull altars and cobweb decorations. That Friday of November 1, we’ll be welcoming in both Muertos partygoers and festive Halloween fans who want to keep the momentum going. And make sure to ask about our “Blood Red” Margaritas, before calling it a night!

Funday Mondays At FRIDA TACOS!

16 Jul

Hola FRIDA fans! It’s been a while since we’ve “blogged it up” and boy do we have some fun updates to share. For all of you who dread the start of the work week, here’s some very good news. From now until the end of the summer, FRIDA TACOS is kicking off Funday Mondays at both our Brentwood and Melrose locations.

All summer long, FRIDA TACOS Brentwood will be participating in the Country Mart’s Monday Movie Night. That’s right, with every new week comes a new film shown right in the South Courtyard. And as you already know, our TAQUERIA selections make a great substitute for run-of-the-mill popcorn. Plus every flick is family-friendly, with Pixar faves like Up, Cars and Ratatouille rounding out the month of July. Come by at 6pm sharp and bring your appetite.

Over on the Melrose side of town, things are definitely hopping too. FT social media fans may remember how we gave away FREE Monday Burritos a few weeks back. Oh yes, the way it worked was via Twitter Direct Message. You Follow us and we send you a “secret password.” Whisper it back to the Melrose cashier and voila! A fully-loaded FREE Monday burrito arrives with your name on it.

And if you happened to miss that promotion, don’t worry. We are already planning an even BETTER one before the summer’s up. Just make sure to keep up with the Tweets and don’t forget to tell your friends.

See…Who says Mondays have to be a drag? At FRIDA TACOS, we prefer kicking off the week with delicious food, outdoor entertainment and promotions that’ll keep your wallet phat. Thanks for all the continued support and keep Following FT!

Celebrate Cinco De Mayo At FRIDA TACOS!

30 Apr

How awesome is it that Cinco De Mayo 2012 falls on a Saturday?! Too many times, our tequila drinking dreams are squashed by the responsibilities of having to wake up early for school or work the next morning. Not this year, says FRIDA TACOS! And we’ll be keeping the party going until 3am!

Granted, we’re not the full-fledged cantina that’ll shoving Cuervo shots down your throat. But the truth is…We’re actually something better! Think of FRIDA TACOS as your Cinco sober-up spot.

Go ahead, have fun at the bars and mingle with your friends. But when that last call happens at 1:30am and you need some hangover prevention…you know where to go. We’re an easy taxi ride from anywhere in the city and we’ll be serving delicious Mexican food until the wee hours of the morning.

Of course, if you’d prefer to settle in for a Cinco house party, FRIDA TACOS has you covered too. We can whip up massive batches of comida to cater your fiesta (and at affordable prices too).

So make a date with FRIDA TACOS this Cinco Saturday, be it for lunch, dinner, or an after midnight snack!

FRIDA TACOS In The A.M.

9 Apr

Believe it or not, FRIDA TACOS does a lot of business in the a.m. Of course there’s the after-midnight crowd who love to much on our Mexican treats at 2 in the morning. But there are also the FRIDA early risers, who’ve been able to take advantage of our tasty breakfast menu!

For those of you who were unaware, FRIDA TACOS has quite a few Buenos Dias delicacies. If you happen to make it into our Melrose shop between 11am-2pm, you can indulge in our delicioso Breakfast Burrito! Now we can throw in any ingredients you like, but if you want it FRIDA style, you’ll get a helping of scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, sour cream, tomatoes and guacamole! It’s all stuffed tight in a warm flour tortilla than can easily be doused in hot salsa.

And the FRIDA desayuno doesn’t stop there! Our Breakfast Chilaquiles are a helluva lot yummier than any McMuffins you may want to wrap your mouth around. Made with crispy corn tortillas, shredded chicken, queso fresco and eggs, they come smothered in your choice of red or green sauce!

Our staff can get very creative with the breakfast concoctions too. If you want huevos in a taco, bacon sopes or just egg whites and salsa to keep things healthy, let us know and we’ll accommodate! We’ll also make sure you have some Agua de Tamarindo to wash everything down.

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day…So why not wake up your stomach with a hearty helping of FRIDA TACOS? Set your alarms for 11am and come on in!

Spice Up Your Valentine’s At FRIDA TACOS

13 Feb

There’s a reason we use bright pink colors when we promote FRIDA TACOS. It’s because deep down we’re more than just a yummy Mexican restaurant, we’re hopeless romantics who love serving TACOS for two. Notice the dreamy La Doña pictures at our Melrose location? Or our convenient closeness to Botany Flowers at the Brentwood Country Mart? It’s no coincidence…and it’s a great reason to head to FRIDA TACOS on Valentine’s Day.

The real beauty of FRIDA TACOS is that you can have it both ways. On one hand, you can drop by our Melrose shop and enjoy a casual romantic meal that won’t break the budget (believe us, we know this economy’s ROUGH). And you won’t have to worry about us being booked up with reservations. We welcome everyone at all times and WE WON’T rush you out of your seats to make room for the next couple.

The other way to do it, is to take FRIDA TACOS on the go. That’s right, if you’re planning rose petals on the floor of your place, scented candles, and bubble baths, why not have a table full of Tamales and Sopes to go with it? You could even be creative and cut out our signature Flan in the shape of a heart.

FRIDA TACOS also makes great “eat-in-front-of-the-TV-food” which means if you’re planning to pop The Notebook into the DVD player Tuesday night, you’ll have some tasty accompaniments to go with it.

The point is, you really can’t go wrong with some delicious Mexican delicacies on V-Day. Italian, sushi, and French bistros are so 2011, right? This is the year to be unconventional and to celebrate spicy goodness with the one you love.

That’s Amor! (If you ask us)
